This renovation project took place in a historic 1893 Victorian home, which originally lacked a second-level bathroom, as the house was built before the advent of widespread indoor plumbing. To address this, I transformed one of the existing bedrooms into a luxurious primary ensuite, carefully preserving the home's original floor plan with minimal alterations.
In the process, I opened up the low ceilings to accentuate the unique angles of the roof and exposed the original chimney, enhancing the space's character. The home's original 1912 clawfoot tub was lovingly restored and hand-painted, becoming a central feature of the design. Additionally, I repurposed a 1960s sideboard, converting it into a custom double vanity, which serves as a nod to the home's rich history and the many decades it has witnessed.
